103bees has been tracking questions in search queries for more than a month now. Here’s an interesting key figure on web search behaviour.
The title says it: an amazing 1.5% of all search queries tracked by 103bees in January are questions! So instead of searching for ‘uninstall ie7′ some web surfers obviously prefer to search for ‘How do I get rid of IE7′ (question taken from the ‘The web’s funniest search queries’ page).
Since we track search engine traffic from thousands of websites and from all the major search engines, this number should be fairly accurate. The ratio probably varies across different niches and topics, but the 1.5% should be a good ballpark figure.
So, how many search hits does your website get in a month? Remember: per 10′000 search hits there are around 150 reader questions. Do you answer them on your website or blog?
